The Vision
Beauty, Restored to the Rail
The Mooresville Elkin & Southern is a heritage railroad in the
making — built upon the architecture, the craft, and the dignity
of the years between 1860 and 1945. It is being built slowly,
faithfully, and entirely by hand.
Every locomotive carries the name of someone loved. Every train is a
letter written in steel. The railroad begins in North Carolina, and it
intends to serve the South.
“A cathedral on rails.”
